We keep the lights on! Oncor delivers safe and reliable energy from power plants to more than 3 million homes and businesses. To do that, we build, operate and maintain our system’s infrastructure – the poles, wires, meters and other electrical equipment. We strive to provide superior service, and continually invest in new equipment to rebuild and upgrade our transmission and distribution system.
We don’t generate or sell the electricity – customers pay for their electricity through the Retail Electric Provider (REP) of their choice, which in turn pays us only for delivering electricity. Customers get to choose their REP and plan – visit powertochoose.org for more information. Customers receive the same reliable delivery service from Oncor no matter which REP they choose.
